A stroll through the historical cafès of the city following in the paths of Italy’s history and the coffee scents. In the 19th century the inhabitants of Turin used to spend their free time in cafès drinking the renowned “Bicerin“, a small glass of coffee.
We will go dow in the streets once populated by famous old cafès takes us to Piazza San Carlo, hosting the historical cafès “San Carlo” and “Torino” and the pastry shop “Stratta” offering their guests historical ambience and elegant furniture. Later Piazza Carignano with cafè “Pepino“, where the iced lolly “Penguin” was created, and the cafè-restaurant “Il Cambio“, which serves to document the history of Piedmont and Italy. We walk along Via Cesare Battisti and reach Via Po and a cafè, meeting point of scholars of Turin at the end of the 19th century. Piazza Castello hosts two majestic coffee houses: “Caffè Baratti e Milano” and “Caffè Mulassano“.
Our stroll ends in Piazza della Consolata at the elegant cafè “Bicerin” from 1763, where we can taste the excellent “Bicerin” in a small jewel of elegance…
