Although already known for their history and beauty, Brescia and Lake Iseo recently also acquired renown thanks to the famous Franciacorta bubbly, the traditional-method sparkling wine par excellence, and “The Floating Piers” event by artist Christo, which drew large crowds in 2016. The enchanting and romantic Lake is immersed in a green landscape where hills covered with olive trees and the evocative rocky faces of the mountains frame splendid Monte Isola, one of the loveliest villages in Italy. A little further on lies Bergamo, another of northern Italy’s treasures, that can be reached by funicular. An itinerary packed with beauty and flavours, where you’ll be captivated by wines and traditional dishes!

Day 1 Arrival at hotel in Brescia, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Full day excursion to Brescia and Franciacorta with tastings of sparkling wine Breakfast is followed by a guided tour of Brescia. Strolling its streets and squares is like taking a journey through time. Noble palazzos, countless churches and the working-class Carmine district reveal a Brescia that is both unexpected and enchanting. Lunchtime free. Transfer to Franciacorta, one of the most interesting wine trails in Lombardy, also in terms of art, scenery and cuisine. A small producer will take you on a tour of the cellar where he makes Franciacorta, the Italian champagne! Tastings of local wines and products. The next stop is at a farm to see how the local cheese is made and enjoy a snack of cheeses and cured meats. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 – Full day excursion to Lake Iseo, Riva Collection and Monteisola. After breakfast, departure for Lake Iseo and meeting with the guide. At a historic shipyard on the banks of the Lake, a tour of the collection of vintage boats by “Riva”, a brand that is renowned for its prestigious, elegant boats and luxury yachts. The shipyard was inaugurated in 1842 by shipwright Pietro Riva and became popular with wealthy clients of the calibre of Brigitte Bardot. It was considered to be one of the best examples of Italian high-end products. There follows a trip to Sulzano, where a private boat will leave for a 50-minute panoramic tour of Lake Iseo’ s three islands: Monteisola, S.Paolo and Loreto. A stop is scheduled at one of the villages on Monteisola, the largest lake island in Europe. After the visit, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 – Half day excursion to Bergamo with traditional lunch. After breakfast, departure for Bergamo and meeting with guide for tour of the city. The journey by funicular offers charming panoramic views on its way to the beautiful upper city of Bergamo Alta. A stroll along the narrow medieval streets will reveal its rich heritage of personalities who lived there in the past: the Palazzo della Ragione in Piazza Vecchia, the ancient seat of the town hall; opposite, the white “New Palazzo”; Piazza del Duomo is the site of the Baptistery, the Colleoni Chapel with its splendid façade, the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica and the Cathedral. The visit ends with a traditional lunch at a restaurant in the upper city. Free time followed by return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 Departure.
