Close your eyes: do you smell the Zagara flowers? If so, then you are already in Sicily… and you are ready to begin our tour! We start out on the western part of the island with a stop in Palermo to visit the aristocratic city and Monreale. We take an excursion to Erice, famous for its delicious marzipan cakes; in the afternoon, we visit the ancient Greek city of Selinunte. Then the tour stops in Agrigento, with its impressive Valle dei Templi, before proceeding eastward to Giardini Naxos. From here, we will visit the lively Catania and Syracuse with its Archaeological Park. A full day is dedicated to Mount Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano, as well as a tour of Taormina with its unusual terrace-like shape and breathtaking views…

Day 1 Arrive in Palermo, check in to the hotel for 2 nights half-board
Day 2 After breakfast, we visit Palermo, a history and art-packed city with its Cathedral and the Palazzo dei Normanni in which the precious Cappella Palatina is found… We continue on to Monreale with its impressive Arab-Norman cathedral and splendid cloister. You spend the afternoon on your own and return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 3 Breakfast and departure to explore the province of Trapani. Erice, a charming location with beautiful views, has a medieval core which has been preserved intact; the town blends harmoniously into its natural surroundings. We will sample its famous marzipan in a local pastry shop. In the afternoon, you visit the exceptional Selinunte archaeological park, unique for the volume and value of its findings. You continue to Agrigento with dinner and overnight at a hotel.
Day 4 After breakfast, a guided tour of Agrigento’s Valle dei Templi, an archaeological site which is one of the best examples of classic Greek civilization; it has been named a “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO. The trip resumes towards the eastern part of the island, reaching Giardini Naxos in the afternoon. Check in at the hotel for 3 nights half-board.
Day 5 Breakfast and departure for Catania. The old town is one of eastern Sicily ‘ s baroque jewels with the splendid Piazza Duomo and the Via dei Crociferi with its churches and convents. A visit to the fish market held every morning (except Sundays) is a must-see. You continue on to Syracuse to admire its splendid Greek theatre and the old town on the island of Ortigia. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 6 After a hearty breakfast, you head out for Mount Etna. Along the 2000 metre journey you can admire a contrast-filled landscape with lava flows, brooms, chestnut trees, and vineyards. In Zafferana Etnea a delicious sampling of products based on honey and orange blossom infused honey is planned. Spend the rest of the day in posh Taormina whose old town enjoys amazingly scenic views, especially from the ancient Theatre. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 7 After breakfast, we bid farewell to magical Sicily with a, “See you soon”!
