Segesta lies at the foot of Monte Barbaro. We take a look at the ancient theatre for a glimpse of its magnificent heritage, the only building enclosed by city walls where historical remains are still visible. The temple is also a joy to behold. Later we head to Erice, a medieval town founded by the Elymi in the 9th century. From here we enjoy a breathtaking view of Trapani, the Egadi Islands and the inland countryside. Here the most important building is the 14th century mother church consecrated to Maria SS. At the other end of the town lies the Castle of Venus, where there are remains of the ancient Temple to Venus. In Erice you will taste Marzipan free of charge!
