Buffet lunch in a trullo with local specialities. In the afternoon, visit to the Castellana caves, an impressive system of underground tunnels 3 kilometres long. On the way back, stop in the beautiful town of Polignano a Mare to savour an exquisite, unmissable mulberry-flavoured ice-cream. Dinner in the hotel and overnight accommodation.

Day 3 After breakfast, departure for an excursion to Basilicata with visit of Matera, the city of the “Stones” recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This is followed by a visit to Martina Franca and its characteristic historical centre with its white alleyways, noble buildings and majestic Baroque churches. Dinner in a typical butcher’s shop in Cisternino: the butcher’s shop restaurants of this city are a well-known tradition throughout the south of Italy for the goodness of their meat! Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight accommodation.

Day 4 After breakfast, departure for a guided tour of the city of Bari. Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, it is an open door to the nearby East with the old city protected by the Svevo Castle. Lunch in a typical estate where a cheese-maker will demonstrate how mozzarella is produced and allow you to taste it still warm . In the afternoon, return to the hotel for the goodbye dinner with various starters, pizzas and desserts… all accompanied by the music and good cheer of a folk group. Overnight accommodation.

Day 5 After breakfast, departure for the return journey.
