Sharing a border with Switzerland, Valtellina is home not only to famous skiing spots such as Bormio and Livigno, but also to a great wine-producing and gastronomic tradition, whose treats include excellent cheeses and cured meats. Exclusive glimpses of mountains alternate with typical little villages such as Teglio, the land of the famous pizzoccheri, Chiavenna, Morbegno and Sondrio, the capital of the province. The Tirano-St Moritz section of the railway, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is one of the most spectacular mountain crossings in the world: making its way through an extraordinary natural pass, the “Little Red Train” clings to mountainsides and valleys, through perpetual ice and snow, linking Northern and Southern Europe. However, you cannot miss a day dedicated to fashionable Lake Como and exclusive Bellagio, destination of international VIPs. To finish your trip in the best way, equipped with apron and rolling pin, you will learn how to prepare “pizzoccheri”, a home-made pasta made from buckwheat flour, a hearty dish of Valtellinese cuisine. You will be supervised by chefs from the Accademia del Pizzocchero di Teglio (the Teglio Pizzocchero Academy), who will accompany you right up to the well-deserved final dinner!

Day 1 Arrival at hotel, in the Tirano/Sondrio area, for 3 nights HB.
Day 2 All ready to enjoy a unique sight, seated comfortably in a cosy train that winds through the valleys and mountains between Italy and Switzerland: departure from Tirano and arrival in elegant St Moritz. After visiting the town, return to hotel by bus. In the evening, a pleasant tasting of typical valley produce.
Day 3 After breakfast, we descend from the Valleys for a tour to discover Lake Como and its shores, abounding in villas and lush vegetation. After a morning dedicated to visiting the town of Como, a boat will carry you to visit the jewel in the crown of Lake Como – Bellagio. In the evening, you will have to roll up your sleeves for the cooking class dedicated to the art of making pizzoccheri, which you will be able to taste immediately afterwards.
Day 4 After breakfast, departure for return trip.
