Full day tour : Turin and San Michele Abbey

In the morning we visit the capital of the Piedmont region, Turin (see description) accompanied by a guide. In the afternoon we head towards the Val di Susa to the Abbey of San Michele which enjoys a commanding position atop Mount Pirchiriano. Built in the 10th century, its architectural features and worldwide importance in the Middle Ages influenced the whole region. We enter the building through the large gate and go up the steep “flight of stairs of the dead people” on the rocks. Once on the top of the stair, we will face the mighty Romanesque “gate of the stars”. Also the church and the crypt from the 11th century are well worth a look.
