No visitor can fail to be carried away by the impressive world of the great architect Andrea Palladio. Then we leave for Bassano del Grappa, a typical little town at the foot of Mount Grappa. The historic centre is very beautiful with numerous shops, which bear witness to the region’s ancient artisan and commercial tradition. We will also visit the Grappa Museum in the very centre of Bassano, and taste the famous Bassano grappa. We continue on to Marostica, famous for its chequered piazza, where in 1454, two suitors played a game of chess for the hand of the regional governor’s daughter. Return to hotel in late afternoon and dinner.

Day 3 After breakfast we arrive in Padua where we will have a 2 hours guided tour. In the afternoon we will move to Stra by boat. Here, we will visit a cellar, with wine tasting and a little snack. Return to hotel in late afternoon and dinner.

Day 5 Today’s excursion takes you firstly to Montagnana, one of the most beautiful italian medieval villages. In the afternoon, however, we depart to explore the formerly volcanic Euganean Hills, which rise up to the south-west of the city of Padua. A visit to Arquŕ Petrarca, a little medieval village nestled into Mount Velone, is not to be missed. Francesco Petrarch, a 14th century Italian writer and poet, came to live here in 1370. Praglia is also a spot that deserves a short stop, to see its Benedictine abbey. The Euganean Hills are also well-known for wines: we will taste them in a winery with a little snack.
