The Calanques: a spectacle of red granite rocks

The Calanques are an amazing landscape of granite and their sculptures, depending on the time of the day, take different tints, from orange to red. These rock formations have, due to the wind erosion, the forms of animals, trees, plants, devils with horns and huge birds. They are situated in the Porto Gulf which has been declared mankind’s heritage by UNESCO. The friendly seaside resort is known for its fantastic beautiful sunsets. Its square Genoese Tower is there, like a guard, who has been keeping a watch on the sea for four centuries.
