Cortona is one of Tuscany’s best preserved medieval towns enjoying a spectacular location: its houses and lanes sit on top of a hill and over look the Chianti valley. Cortona was a very important Etruscan city as it is attested by the remains of the city wall. Flagstone steep streets, priceless architectural treasures like the medieval Palazzo Casali and a number of houses, churches and palaces. The place is dominated by Medici fortress offering a dramatic view over South Tuscany up to Mount Amiata.
