Central Sardinia: a voyage through time

Our “voyage through time” takes us from prehistoric Sardinia in the Nuraghe village of Serra Orios to the modern period of contestation in Orgosolo with its wall paintings. Serra Orios is one of Barbagia‘s most important archaeological sites renowned for its religious centre and its complex urban settlement. We spend one hour visiting the site that is easily reachable on a pathway 400 mt. far from the parking. Su Gologone is Sardinia’s most important karstic spring and one of the most interesting in Europe. The tour is not a tough one and lasts about one hour. Dubbed he town of “talking walls”, Orgosolo is renowned for its great wall paintings and its past history of brigandage that attracts tourists. A few kilometres far from Orgosolo is a recreation area where you can enjoy a picnic or a full lunch with typical Sardinian food like cheese, carasau bread and the famous roasted pork “porcetto“.
