For those who would like to enjoy spring at the height of colour, a trip to see the camellias in bloom on Lake Maggiore is an absolute must. An impressive event of nature in its own right, with its delightful landscape and magnificent parks and gardens, the backdrop of Lake Maggiore lends a totally unique frame to the sensational view of the camellias in bloom. In recent years, more and more visitors have been attracted to this popular lake to see the camellias in bloom, with a total of around 20,000 flower lovers last year who came to enjoy these ornamental plants in their full glory.

Day 1 Arrival at Lake Maggiore and arrangements in hotel for 3 nights HB.

Day 2 After breakfast in the hotel, the first day cannot but be dedicated to a visit to the Borromeo Islands with the imposing baroque palace on Isola Bella and its splendid Italian garden. In the afternoon, after having seen the finest flowers enhancing the landscapes of Lake Maggiore, you will have the chance to glean all the secrets used to grow these plants thanks to the “tricks of the trade” revealed by “master” nurseryman accompanying you on a visit to his nursery. Take notes so you can apply his precious hints and suggestions at home!

Day 3 After breakfast, we will move over to the Swiss part of the Lake to visit Locarno, where you will be able to admire other types of camellia and magnolia in the Park of Camellias. In the afternoon, on the way back, stop and visit of Cannero Riviera, a very charming village on the Italian lake shore.

Day 4 Breakfast and departure for return.
