Day 2 The tour could not begin with a more important city: Milan and its Cathedral, Castello Sforzesco, and La Scala. In addition to the more fashionable centre, Leonardo da Vinci’s the Last Supper deserves a visit.

Day 3 With its villas and romantic views, in recent years Lake Como has become even more famous thanks to its being frequented by members of the international jet-set. We will visit the city of Como, famous for the great tradition of its silk industry. In the afternoon, you visit Villa Carlotta and take a pleasant boat ride to discover the pearl of the lake: Bellagio.

Day 4 Just a few steps from the border, you find another of Europe’s most beautiful lakes, Lake Lugano. We will explore the lake to the south of Ticino, as well as the small and charming town of Morcote. Once a famous lake port, today Morcote is known for its charming lanes and the gates to the old aristocratic mansions – valuable architectural monuments with lush vegetation.

Day 5 Another day dedicated to Bergamo with its beautiful historical centre; as well as to Franciacorta, famous for its fantastic wines and traditional cuisine to be sampled with a tasting/lunch at a farm inn; and Lake Iseo, to visit the largest lake island in Europe: Montisola.

Day 6 The tour concludes with one last excursion to two small, elegant cities in southern Lombardy: Pavia, with its renowned Certosa – a large monastery at the city gates – and Vigevano, with its Piazza Ducale – which, beyond being a true Renaissance jewel, it is also the largest piazza in Italy.
